DESCRIPTION
Prototype of a Rollsroyce Silver Ghost, ca. 1907.
It has faults. Needs restoration.
Measurements: 70 x 137 x 60 cm.
This peculiar prototype of the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost is characterized for being an early or development version of the original model produced from 1906, conceived to test technical and aesthetic solutions before its serial production. Visually, it maintains the classic elegance of the brand, with an elongated and refined body, smooth lines and balanced proportions, although it may present variations in details such as the shape of the radiator, the arrangement of the headlights or finishes. It usually incorporates a robust chassis and a six-cylinder engine, a key element that defined the reputation of the Silver Ghost for its smoothness and reliability. In these prototypes, some components could be experimental or not definitive, both in the mechanics and in the bodywork -which was often made by independent coachbuilders-, which makes each early example have unique characteristics and a great historical value in the evolution of the luxury car.
