This bronze vase, attributed to the Belgian sculptor Joseph Moreau, perfectly embodies the aesthetics of Art Nouveau, characterized by the omnipresence of organic forms and stylized botanical motifs. Its elegance lies in the harmony between the functional structure of the object and the abundance of sculpted ornaments that seem to animate the material itself. The vase presents an elongated and gently curved silhouette that narrows towards the base and widens at the top. This verticality is reinforced by the vegetal elements that run along its surface.
The body of the vase is richly decorated with thistles in relief, whose sinuous stems stretch and intertwine in a fluid and dynamic movement.
