The artists Sixto Marco, Arcadio Blasco, Pepe Azorín and María Chana share a deep connection with the Spanish contemporary art scene of the second half of the 20th century, especially with regard to the plastic renovation that emerged in the Levantine Mediterranean context. Although each one developed his own language, they all converge in an attitude of formal experimentation and expressive commitment, oriented towards the search for new ways of representation beyond traditional figuration.
In the case of Sixto Marco and Arcadio Blasco, their work is situated in the transition between the post-war period and Spanish artistic modernity, marked by the desire to break with academicism and openness to the languages of abstraction and informalism. Both artists show interest in matter, texture and the expressiveness of gesture, integrating in their work a symbolic and existential dimension.
Pepe Azorín, belonging to a later generation, continues this path of plastic freedom, incorporating into his production a reflection on form and color that translates into a more structured painting, where geometry and chromatic lyricism coexist in balance.
On the other hand, María Chana, already fully inserted in the currents of the second half of the 20th century, brings a contemporary vision in which abstract language is associated with a sensorial and poetic exploration of matter, maintaining, like the previous artists, a fidelity to the investigative impulse and the dialogue between emotion and structure.
