DESCRIPTION
Cover and a photograph belonging to an Austrian sticker album of the 1936 Winter Olympic Games.
Measurements 33 x 24 cm; 17 x 12 cm.
The 1936 Winter Olympic Games, held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), were marked both by the development of sport and by the political context of the time. They were the last Winter Games before World War II and were organized under the Nazi regime, which used them as a propaganda tool.
In sports, they stood out for the consolidation of disciplines such as alpine skiing (introduced for the first time) and for the dominance of European countries such as Norway. Despite their organizational success, these Games were historically associated with the political climate prior to the war.
