Cover of the original score of the Olympic Hymn, sonorous emblem of the first modern Olympic Games. The work, composed by the Greek musician Spyridon Samaras with lyrics by the poet Kostis Palamas, was interpreted for the first time in the inaugural ceremony of Athens 1896, marking a historical moment of deep symbolic charge. Decades later, in 1958, the International Olympic Committee officially consecrated it as the permanent anthem of the Olympic Movement, consolidating its place as one of the most representative musical pieces of the Olympic spirit.
