This work is part of the refined Venetian landscape painting of the eighteenth century, in the field of capriccio, a genre that combines imaginary architecture, medieval evocations and idealized nature. The attribution to the so-called Master of the Azzurri Mountain - identified with Pietro Antonio Domenichi - is based on a distinctive feature: the presence of blue and misty mountains on the horizon, treated with a delicate atmospheric perspective that gives depth and lyricism to the scene.

The composition responds to the canons of the Arcadian landscape: trees on the margins frame the view and guide the gaze towards the architectural nucleus, while small figures of fishermen and walkers animate the environment with loose and confident brushstrokes. The chromatic transition, from the earthy tones of the foreground to the evanescent blues of the background, creates a serene and luminous atmosphere, far removed from baroque dramatism and close to an enlightened sensibility. The result is not a topographical view, but a poetic scene conceived for contemplation, where nature and architecture dialogue in harmonious balance.
