The one we present here is the classic rural scene that defined the style of Ferey Prosper. It represents the guardian of a flock with her goats and sheep drinking on the banks of a river. As we can see, his paintings tend to be pastoral scenes, with animals and rural characters. Prosper Ferey was a 19th century French painter who specialized in genre scenes, landscapes and animals. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1847 and 1848.
