Lively scene of patio of tavern, a very frequent subject in the Andalusian costumbrista painting of the period. The composition focuses on a group of three people seated around a table, captured in a moment of relaxed conversation as they raise their glasses, suggesting a toast or a lively chat.
The artist uses a warm and vibrant palette, with a special emphasis on reds, yellows and whites in the women's clothing, which contrasts with the darker tones of the men's attire. The watercolor technique is loose and expressive, with visible brushstrokes and transparencies that bring lightness and spontaneity to the scene. The backgrounds, barely sketched with green and ochre stains, place the action in an open space, probably an interior courtyard, without detracting from the prominence of the figures.
