There he was a disciple of Muñoz Degrain and Emilio Sala, and companion of Zubiaurre and Espina y Capó. Then, with a scholarship from the Ministry, he traveled to Italy to complete his training. From there he went to Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and during his travels his painting evolved towards Nordic impressionism. In 1912 he obtained an honorary mention at the National Exhibition in Madrid. He returned to Toledo in 1914, and the following year he held his first individual exhibition in Madrid. Member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Toledo, Vera is currently represented in the Museum of Santa Cruz in Toledo, as well as in numerous private collections both in Spain and abroad.
