"Figura", 1972.

Armando Guerra began his artistic career in the late 1960s, coinciding with his first exhibition in 1968. That same year, he moved to Valencia to study Fine Arts at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Carlos and later to Barcelona, where he specialized in intaglio and painting at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Jordi. It was in Catalonia, in the early 70's, where he became interested in informalist currents, a style that he began to incorporate in his works. During this period, he participated in several group exhibitions in Vigo, A Coruña and Barcelona. He was part of the Atlántica group, a renovating movement of contemporary Galician art. Currently, his work can be found in the Museo Municipal de Vigo Quiñones de León and in the Museo del Grabado in Buenos Aires. Guerra's painting evolved towards a greater simplification and purity of lines, characterized by a reflection on the gesture of the brushstroke.
