The painter Tom Krøjer is known for his vibrant, figurative and often ironic and satirical style. Much of his work was characterized as biting and satirical criticism of contemporary society, politics and consumer culture. As we observe in the present canvas, his work had a strong graphic quality, with clear lines and intense colors, due to his training in graphic arts, and he applied this in both his paintings and engravings.

He trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Kunstakademiet) in Copenhagen, at the school of graphics, graduating in 1968. He exhibited extensively throughout his career in Denmark and other countries. He was a recognized figure in contemporary Danish art and his works are in important collections.
