An early and well decided vocation will lead Enric Porta to follow the path of painting, beginning his training in Barcelona, at the School of La Lonja and at the Baixas Academy. He began to exhibit his works before 1920, participating in exhibitions in places as prominent as the Barcelona City Hall. He later extended his studies in Paris, where he remained for ten years. On his return from the French capital in 1932, he took up permanent residence in his native town, Puebla de Segur, where he set up his studio and workshop. Under his direction he trained painters such as Joan Subirà, Francesc Fontelles and Daniel Ramoneda. During the following years he took part in various art salons, and exhibited individually in Barcelona, in the galleries of the Grupo de Arte Escolà and in the Syra gallery.
