Antón Abreu Bastos began his training in the world of art in his father's workshop (cabinetmaker), extending his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vigo. His artistic career began with an expressionist stage, of simple figurations and dramatic interpretations; he would then move on to childhood reminiscences, dream landscapes... and, later still, to humanized stones, magical archaeologies of an outstanding sensitivity; in his continuous search he would then turn to simple types of simplified faces, with an air of "eternal rurality"; finally, he would turn to a lyrical landscape painting with fog, chromatic air and insinuated nature. His work is kept in private collections as well as in Spanish institutions (Quiñones de León Museum Collection), but also in the United States, South America (Tucumán Provincial Museum in Argentina...), Europe, etc.
