Antoni Amat was formed in schools of fine arts and design of Barcelona, has maintained different studies in Barcelona, El Montseny, Girona, and Miami. He currently lives and works in Palma de Mallorca.

In a first stage, in the seventies, he made his first competitions and exhibitions, where he received recognition and awards. In the eighties he delves into various disciplines of artistic expression and delves into the theories of art and philosophy, from the nineties there is a break that will lead him to the current work. He goes through different creative periods, where his personal form of artistic expression will become evident, making a very significant contribution to contemporary art today.

Amat is a figure in the international art scene with a unique and individual vision towards abstract art, ArtsSpike, (NYC). In the 2000s, the exhibition "La huella del silencio", Galería Maeght, Barcelona, marks a new stage in his artistic career. He exhibits his work and participates in art and performance fairs, nationally and internationally, (Barcelona, Frankfurt, New York, Miami, etc.) The origin, the essence, the elements, interculturality and contemporaneity are concepts of Amat's work, which in these periods he has been developing until today.
