Fernando Camoura offers us a view of the gorge of La Hermida with a luminous and monumental vision of the Cantabrian mountain, where the great rocky masses predominate, the intense greens and a clear and vibrant atmosphere that transmits depth and natural grandeur. The composition guides the eye towards the center of the valley by means of diagonals and hallmarks of light, while the loose brushwork and the violet, blue and green tones reveal a sensibility close to luminism and landscape painting of the late 19th century, more interested in capturing the impression of nature and its atmospheric effects than in a detailed description of the terrain.
