Alexandra Rodés studied artistic baccalaureate in Institució cultural del CIC, Barcelona, after which she entered the school of design Elisava in Barcelona, and more recently at the school of drawing and painting of the Marie de Paris 2004-2006. She has also attended drawing workshops at the Paris School of Fine Arts ENSBA (2008), and art history at La Sorbonne, Paris, finishing her studies that same year.She has exhibited at Espai Borojo, Barcelona, 2012; Subarna, Barcelona, 2013, and Centro Darmakaya, Barcelona 2014. With this broad training and an innate technical ability, Alejandra Rodés apprehends the art of painting from the investigation of the very essentiality of pictorial language. Light, form and color are the main protagonists of her paintings, reconciling with each other to capture the charged atmosphere of a cafeteria, or to filter the light through the glasses lined up on the bar, or to reduce a face to a minimal soulful expression that imbues that character with an enigmatic halo.
