The Waterman Carène Amber Shimmer is a regular production fountain pen, launched by Waterman in the late 90's as part of its Carène line, known for combining modern design with elegant finishes. Its name refers to the warm tone of its finish, reminiscent of the color of amber under the light, with reddish and golden reflections that vary depending on the viewing angle.

This version is made with a metal body coated in high-gloss lacquer, in an amber-brown shade with an iridescent effect. The cap and metal details are finished in gold or palladium plating, depending on the variant, and the curved clip follows the nautical style that defines the entire Carène series. Its design is inspired by the shape of a ship's keel, giving it a continuous, streamlined silhouette with no visible interruptions between body and section.
