In the early post-war years, Montblanc resumed production in Hamburg with a new series of pens that would define the standard of quality and elegance of the house: the 3XX models. The Montblanc 342, manufactured between 1952 and 1954, embodies the essence of classic German design with restrained proportions and impeccable workmanship.
With its compact body in glossy black resin and a discreet gold-plated cap ring, this pen was conceived to offer performance and distinction in an understated format. The cap is topped with the flat white star, the unmistakable symbol of the brand. The nib, made of 14-karat two-tone gold, offers smooth and constant writing, especially in the most common F and M nibs.
The plunger-loading system, integrated into the barrel, allows for a clean and efficient filling experience, true to the German engineering style of the time. The Montblanc 342 not only reflects the country's industrial recovery, but also the brand's commitment to maintaining excellence in times of reconstruction.
