The period of the end of the century was characterized by an eclectic taste that fused neoclassical, imperial and Renaissance references, driven by the consolidation of a bourgeoisie that aspired to solemn and technically sophisticated environments. The architectural design of the clock, with fluted columns, classically inspired relief plaques and polished surfaces of strong chromatic contrast, reflects the influence of the Napoleon III style, which took up the monumentality of the early Empire but endowing it with greater ornamental richness and variety of materials.
Aesthetically, the ensemble stands out for the solidity of its stepped structure, the balance between curved and rectilinear volumes, and the use of stones The visible pendulum, framed by a glazed body and columns, provides a mechanical and decorative component that was highly valued at the time, linked to the 19th century interest in showing engineering as an aesthetic element.
In the description of the clocks, when it is marked "in running condition" it means that the clock is in working order at the time of cataloging. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. Nor do we guarantee its water resistance or water resistance, regardless of what is indicated by the manufacturer or the model. All the photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and therefore the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
