DESCRIPTION
French wall clock, 18th century
Wooden case carved and polychromed in green with gilded applications.
Machinery with chime of hours and half hours (bim-bam system).
Measurements: 90 x 36 x 15 cm.
Elegant French wall clock of the 18th century, with curvilinear profile and gilded ornamentation, representative of the decorative taste of the transitional Louis XV-Louis XVI period.
It has an enameled dial with Roman numerals for the hours and interior minute track, gilded bronze openwork hands and visible pendulum at the bottom. The machinery incorporates hour and half-hour chimes.
The case, with sinuous lines and green polychrome with gilded moldings, responds to the late rococo ornamental language, bringing lightness and refinement to the whole.
