Blown glass and enamel.
Curious and rare translucent Bohemian blown glass cup. decorated on top with mythological scene in finely chiseled and cut gold leaf. The lower part is bell-shaped and decorated with black enameled borders, with a silver-plated base.
Provenance: Spanish private collection, formed between 1970 and 2010.
Good preservation. Normal wear due to use and the passage of time.
Measurements: 25 cm (height) x 11 cm (largest diameter).

The Bohemian crystal takes its name from the regions of Bohemia and Silesia, belonging to the countries now known as Czech Republic and Poland. Bohemian crystal is famous for its high quality, fineness and the exquisite use of lead oxide in its manufacture. The hegemony of Bohemian crystal began in the late 16th century. It became popular among both the nobility and the European royalty of the time and today, allowing its reputation to reach all corners of the world.
