Decorated porcelain tray from the “Medusa” series by Versace for Rosenthal. The piece embodies the Italian brand’s ornamental aesthetic: the head of Medusa as the central emblem, Greco-Roman borders, golden scrollwork, and a symmetrical composition with striking decorative effect.

Launched in 1992, the collaboration between Versace and Rosenthal combined the exuberant aesthetic of the Italian fashion house with the manufacturing tradition of the German firm, founded in 1879 and internationally renowned for the quality of its porcelain. Rosenthal, which underwent a major revival after World War II through collaborations with leading designers, found in Versace an ideal partner to bring decorative luxury to the tableware and home decor sectors.

In this version, the intense red of the rim adds warmth and drama against the black-and-white background of the central medallion. The gold decoration, inspired by classical motifs, reinforces the piece’s theatrical character, designed to serve as both a decorative tray or pocket tray and a collector’s item.
