Frank Adams was an American artist. This meticulously rendered scene depicts a beggar disregarding the words of Roman soldiers. Beginning as an engineering draftsman during World War II, he was known for his book illustrations, watercolors and paintings. Adams is best known for The Home Front, which was first published in 1944. The book is made up of drawings that capture the spirit of the men and women who often worked side by side for the war industry: welding, riveting, riding forklifts.... His style veered freely between caricature, realism and biblical or costumbrista subject matter.
