In 1892, she received the first medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid with the sculpture Los primeros fríos, a modernist work that influenced a whole generation of Catalan sculptors. She was one of the greatest master sculptors and had Julio Antonio as a student. He collaborated with the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner with the sculpture La canción popular, placed in a corner of the facade of the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. In 1909 he was appointed member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid and professor of modeling at the School of San Fernando, a position he held until 1925, when he was appointed director of the Academy of Spain in Rome.
