RAFAEL ESTRANY I ROS (Mataró, Barcelona, 1884 - Barcelona, 1958).
"Children on the beach".

Signed.
Measurements: 15 x 10 cm; 26 x 35 cm (frame).
Estrany was formed in the School of Arts and Trades of Mataró and in the Academy Baixas of Barcelona, and finally he extends his formation in the Academy Julien of Paris. From there he moved to Belgium, where he met James Ensor, from whom he received valuable teachings. Throughout his career Estrany presented more than sixty solo exhibitions, and participated in group exhibitions in Spain, Mexico, Panama and Rome. He was awarded in numerous National Exhibitions in Madrid and Catalonia, by the Real Academia de Sant Jordi, by the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña and in the International Exhibitions of Mexico and Panama. He also developed an important teaching work, and was director of the School of Arts and Crafts of his hometown. He is currently represented in various Spanish public and private collections.
