ZAHA HADID (Baghdad, Iraq, 1950- Miami, Florida, 2016).
"Sketch for the Heydar Aliyeu Center in Baku, Azerbaijan," 2011.

The Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, whose preparatory sketch is presented in this tender, stands as Zaha Hadid's creative culmination and mature masterpiece. This organic structure, defined by an undulating envelope that emerges from the ground in defiance of orthogonality, completely does away with the use of straight lines. The genius of the project lies in the dissolution of spatial boundaries, achieving an absolute fluidity between the topography of the exterior plaza and the interior volume, eliminating in a revolutionary way the traditional columnar edges and supports in favor of a continuous architectural skin.
Zaha Hadid was an Iraqi-British architect who revolutionized the contemporary landscape through a formal language of fluid curves and fragmented geometries, becoming the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize in 2004. After years of being considered a "paper architect" due to the theoretical audacity of her designs, her career took a definitive leap with the Vitra Fire Station and was consolidated with milestones such as the Heydar Aliyev Center and the London Aquatic Center, where the use of parametric software made it possible to materialize structures that defied gravity and eliminated right angles. Her legacy, marked by a previous training in mathematics and a deconstructivist vision, transformed the perception of architectural space, endowing it with an organic dynamism that earned her worldwide recognition and the title of Dame of the Order of the British Empire. Other outstanding buildings: MAXXI - National Museum of the Arts of the 21st Century (Rome, Italy); Guangzhou Opera House (China) or the Galaxy SOHO (Beijing, China).
