A promising international artist, Teresa Solar devoted the early part of her career to the audiovisual field before later venturing into the world of sculpture. For Solar, morphology and thought are essential parts of her work, which is why she embraces diversity and experiments with different artistic languages and materials. On this last point, Solar once stated in an interview for Iberia’s *Talento A Bordo* that clay is, for her, a metaphor for the subsoil, “for the unknown matter upon which we live, but about which we know little. It also speaks to a very ancient geological era, to the genesis of our planet. The resin limbs, on the other hand, are reminiscent of animals, yet at the same time resemble polished, aerodynamic industrial designs that allude to human industries.” For this reason, ceramic work plays a very important role in her practice. Found objects and human symbols also coexist in her work. “Shapes of Silence: Long, Extruded” alludes to the industrial world, where hybrid forms of existence that combine organic and synthetic properties are constantly being produced. Her work was presented at the 2021 Liverpool Biennial and the 59th Venice Biennale (2022). Upcoming projects include a solo exhibition at CA2M and a group show at Collegium in Arévalo. Her work is featured in the group exhibition “Futuros Abundantes” from the TBA21 collection in Córdoba, as well as in the Sandretto Foundation’s Young Curators Residency Program and the group exhibition “Si las palabras hablaran/If words could talk” in Madrid. Her work has also been exhibited at the Joan Prats Gallery in Barcelona, as well as at other institutions in Madrid, Cuenca, Palma de Mallorca, Valladolid, Rome, and Munich, among others.
