Sumptuous and very special wall mirror by Jay Strongwater, with meticulously ornamented frame combining enamel and Swarovski crystals on bronze. It forms a garland of intertwining bronze vines on whose twigs perch salamanders, caterpillars and butterflies, among other insects. Their tiny bodies are covered with shimmering crystals and bright colors, contrasting with the green leaves with their aristate outlines and the flowers with their beautiful petals.

Jay Strongwater is an American contemporary artist and designer born in 1960. He is known for his elegant and vividly bejeweled couture home furnishings and jewelry. His career began while he was still a student at the Rhode Island School of Design. At 23, he met Oscar De La Renta and began collaborating with him on runway jewelry designs. In 1998, her "Home Jewelry Collection" supplanted her fashion business. Her works are sold at Neiman Marcus and are in the collections of some of the world's most prestigious houses.
