DESCRIPTION
Brutalist chair; Spain, 1960s.
Carved chestnut wood.
Presents restoration on the back leg.
Measurements: 120 x 30 x 34,5 cm.
This three-legged chair is a clear exponent of the brutalist language applied to furniture. Aesthetics to which it is ascribed due to its rotund forms, forceful proportions and sculptural structure. Made of solid chestnut wood, it has a finish that highlights the texture of the material and the imprint of craftsmanship. The asymmetry of its design, reinforced by the three-legged configuration, gives it an almost sculptural character.
In the 1960s, Brutalism left a notable mark on Spanish furniture design, aligning itself with the architectural and cultural modernization of the country.
