DESCRIPTION
SALVADOR VIDAL (active in Cancun, Mexico).
Pair of armchairs, 80s.
In rosewood.
They have reference numbering on the back.
Measurements: 126 x 57 x 64 cm.
Pair of armchairs made by the cabinetmaker and designer Salvador Vidal in the 1980s, probably within his production developed in his workshop in Cancun (Mexico), characterized by the quality craftsmanship and the use of fine woods.
The pieces present a design of curved and enveloping lines, with arched arms and vertical slatted backrest with a marked ergonomic inclination. The structure, with cantilevered elements, provides visual lightness and is one of the author's distinctive features.
Probably made of Che-Chent (Caribbean rosewood), they stand out for the richness of their grain and the solidity of the material. The reference numbering on the back is characteristic of the pieces from his workshop, reinforcing their authenticity.
Salvador Vidal was a cabinetmaker and designer active in Mexico, recognized for his mastery of bentwood and for his sculptural production in 20th century design.
