Attractive pair of table lamps of Danish production, characterized by its stylized composition and refined use of materials. The truncated cone base in lacquered wood is combined with bronze elements and bone applications, generating an elegant chromatic and material contrast. The design stands out for its verticality and balance, culminating in a light upper structure that accentuates its decorative character.
The ringed treatment of the shaft is inspired by African necklaces, which adds a subtle exoticism to the whole. Such influences, reinterpreted from a Scandinavian sensibility, were prevalent in mid-20th century design, integrating tradition, craftsmanship and modernity.
Lyfa was one of the leading Danish lighting firms of the 20th century, noted for the quality of its materials and innovation in its designs. Its productions of this period reflect a search for balance between functionality and decorative value, consolidating its relevance in the development of modern Nordic design.
