DESCRIPTION
Floor lamp. LYFA, Denmark, 1930s.
Bronze frame, with pierced lacquered metal shade.
In good overall condition commensurate with age. Slight signs of use and patina on the metal.
Measurements: 76 x 25,5 x 25,5 cm.
Elegant floor lamp of Danish production, characterized by a sober and functional design of refined lines. The truncated cone-shaped lampshade in lacquered metal, perforated at the base, generates a subtle luminous effect by filtering the light, while the bronze shaft provides solidity and material warmth. The whole responds to a transitional aesthetic between late Art Deco and the beginnings of Scandinavian functionalism.
Lyfa was one of the leading Danish lighting firms of the 20th century, noted for the quality of its materials and the modernity of its designs. Its early productions, such as this one, reflect the evolution towards a more rational and refined language that would mark the development of later Nordic design.
