The drawer units and cabinets of the MM series by Miguel Milá for Gres, which were developed from the early 1960s and especially around 1971, respond to an extremely sober, functional and rationalist approach, characteristic of all his work. It is furniture of prismatic volume and contained proportions, conceived from a clear constructive logic, where each element responds to a precise function. The drawer units are organized by means of smooth fronts with several drawers, while the cabinets adopt closed configurations with hinged doors or modular interiors, in both cases resolved with great formal economy. One of their most distinctive features is the use of leather handles, discreetly integrated into the structure, as well as the combination of clean planes and sharp edges that reinforce their austere character.

These pieces are part of the MM series, a set of furniture conceived by Milá under criteria of simplicity, visual lightness and adaptability, in line with his interest in creating accessible and versatile furniture, far from any decorative excess.

As a whole, both the MM drawer units and the MM cabinets are defined by an essential, almost anonymous aesthetic, where constructive tradition and modern thinking are balanced in a silent, practical and timeless language.
