The mirror "Rendez Vous", designed by Noja for the exhibition Gifts for the Bride at Studio Alchimia, is a singular piece that transcends its utilitarian function to place itself fully in the field of experimental artistic design. Conceived as a unique object, it combines wood painted in an intense red with mirrored surfaces on both sides, creating a thought-provoking visual and conceptual game. The design also incorporates unusual functional elements, such as a lateral electrical connection and a cable arranged at the top for installation from the ceiling, which reinforces its innovative and almost scenographic character. At the base, two drawers add a practical component that contrasts with its strong conceptual charge.
Nazareno Noja (born Salvatore) began his career between working as a laborer at the Ilva di Bagnoli and an early artistic vocation, which led him to create murals and publish the collection of poems Mille Cicatrici in 1949. After training as an architect in Naples, he moved to Milan, where he worked as an architect and illustrator.
In the mid-sixties he left this profession to open the Malamoda store, becoming a figure linked to the counterculture. Under the name Nazareno Noja he developed a free and experimental creative production, focused on objects, fashion and design with international influences.
