POUL CADOVIUS (Denmark, 1911 - 2011) and SUSANNE FJEDLDØE for Cado.
Dining table series "Mosquito", c. 1960.
Brushed aluminum and plasticized wood.
Presents label.
Measurements: 70 x 138 x 138 cm.
Designed by Poul Cadovius in collaboration with Susanne Fjedldoe, the table has an aluminum base and a lacquered acrylic top, with an original radial design based on golden scrolls on a black background, in the profile, and mottled in the central area.
Prominent Danish furniture designer and manufacturer, Poul Cadovius is mainly remembered for his Royal System shelving structure, the starting point of a flexible furniture concept that allows infinite possibilities from a limited set of standard elements. As a manufacturer, he served on the board of directors of Cado Center and several international firms that marketed his Royal System throughout Europe. He was awarded the Finlands Mässa gold medal (1950), silver medal at the 11th Milan Triennale (1957), the Danish National Association's Work Initiative Award (1959), gold medal at the 10th International Exhibition in Brussels (1961) and the Dansk Købestævnes medal.
