DESCRIPTION
Scandinavian pendant lamp type "PH" by POUL HENNINGSEN (Denmark, 1894 - 1967). Northern Europe, 1970s.
Metal with brushed finish and white lacquered interior surfaces. Lampshade with lacquered finish.
Very good overall condition. Rewired.
Measurements: 22 x 55 x 55 cm.
Pendant lamp of modular design composed of superimposed metallic screens, conceived to provide an indirect, uniform and glare-free illumination. Its structure is directly linked to the system developed by Poul Henningsen in his famous PH lamps, based on the staggered arrangement of shades to control the diffusion of light and optimize visual comfort; this principle was widely reinterpreted in Scandinavian productions of the second half of the twentieth century, maintaining the balance between functionality, lighting precision and formal refinement characteristic of Nordic design.
