DESCRIPTION
Standing coat rack in the manner of GÉRARD COQUELIN (France, 1947), late twentieth century.
Red lacquered metal.
Good general condition. It presents slight wear in the painting according to the use and the passage of time.
Measurements: 168 x 83 x 68 cm.
Sculptural structure made of red lacquered metal, formed by curved rods that ascend vertically and form an organic composition of remarkable dynamism. The upper spiral-shaped finials provide both decorative and functional value. The whole evokes an expressive and biomorphic language close to that of Gérard Coquelin, where the boundaries between utilitarian object and sculptural piece are blurred.
Gérard Coquelin is a French sculptor and designer known for combining utilitarian function with a strong artistic dimension in his pieces. His pieces have been presented in galleries and fairs specialized in contemporary art and design.
