This pair of lamps is distinguished by its cubic bases in hardwood, worked with geometric marquetry of great refinement. Their clean and balanced composition reflects Italian design of the late 20th century, where artisanal tradition and contemporary language merge.
Fabrizio Poldaretti was an Italian designer active mainly between the 1970s and 1980s, known for creating furniture of rationalist lines and elegant sophistication within contemporary Italian design. His name is especially associated with the "Caccia alla Volpe" collection, a series of modular furniture, tables, desks and seats made for the Italian firm Linea Mobili, characterized by the use of noble woods such as cherry, rosewood and root, copper details and a refined aesthetic that combines functionality and discreet luxury. His pieces, produced in limited quantities, are today appreciated in the vintage and collector's market for their quality craftsmanship and for representing the Italian design of transition between late modernism and the sophisticated aesthetics of the 1980s.
