This buffet combines the taste for natural wood and traditional joinery of Danish designers, and more specifically of Severin Hansen, with the emphatic and geometric volumes and the search for the lightness of the fifties and sixties. The piece of furniture is made of rosewood and stands on bambi legs characteristic of mid-century design. As a desk, it has two blocks of drawers on the sides. The sunken drawer pulls are completely in keeping with Hansen's design.

Severin Hansen's design furniture is characterized by the warm, organic look of wood, which is combined with a distinctly modern formal concept, very typical of Scandinavian design at this time, based on stylized, geometric and well-defined forms, without moldings or ornamentation.

Erik Severin Risager-Hansen was a Danish furniture designer linked to the modern Scandinavian design movement (Danish Modern), recognized for his elegant tables and desks with minimalist lines and great technical precision, especially for his characteristic three-way mitered joints that gave his pieces a clean and sophisticated finish; He spent most of his career with the firm Haslev Møbelsnedkeri from the late 1950s, and although his career was relatively brief, his designs have become highly valued classics among mid-century collectors.
