The De Sede set now up for bidding is distinguished by the full upholstery in high quality thick leather. Highlights include the wide closed sides that act as structural legs, the exposed double stitching that runs along the backrest, arms and sides, and the slightly sloping high backrest divided into stitched horizontal stripes, a frequent feature of the brand's models. The upholstered armrests, with a soft and enveloping profile, together with the deep seat and matching footrest, are in line with the search for maximum comfort that characterizes De Sede. Likewise, the design favors rounded, sculptural forms over visible structures, almost completely concealing the frame under the leather.
Based in Klingnau, located in northern Switzerland near the German border, De Sede has been dedicated to the production of high-end furniture since the 1960s, when it began collaborating with international designers in the creation of premium handmade leather chairs, lounges and sofas.
