DESCRIPTION
Sculptural bottle holder; France or Italy, 1970s.
Brass or patinated bronze.
In good general condition, with patina, marks and surface wear consistent with age and use.
Measurements: 15 x 33 x 11 cm.
Original bottle holder of strong sculptural character made of brass or patinated bronze, conceived in the shape of a stylized rhinoceros. The piece combines a playful approach with a design of great formal sophistication, becoming a functional and decorative object of high presence.
Its prismatic body of refined lines contrasts with the expressive modeling of the naturalistic head, the sinuous tail and the fused zoomorphic legs, generating an interesting dialogue between geometry and organicity. This duality refers to the European sculptural design of the 1970s, in which the influence of late modernism and the decorative language of the Hollywood Regency coexisted, especially in hybrid signature pieces.
The upper cavity holds two bottles, functioning both as a cooler and as a centerpiece. The surface of the metal, with its patina rich in nuances, adds visual depth and reinforces its status as a unique piece, with a marked handcrafted character.
Decorative object of great visual impact, ideal for eclectic chic interiors, modernist environments or collections focused on sculptural design of the twentieth century.
