Elegant pair of table lamps made in gilded brass, conceived from a plant-inspired design. This set is part of the aesthetic tradition popularized by Maison Charles, one of the most prestigious French design and lighting firms of the 20th century. Renowned for its ability to reinterpret classical decorative languages with a contemporary sensibility, the house stood out for its masterful use of polished bronzes, nickel-plated metals and high-quality finishes, capable of transforming light into a genuine decorative element.
Under the creative direction of Jacques Charles and Chrystiane Charles, Maison Charles achieved international recognition thanks to creations characterized by a balance between neoclassical elegance, functionality and formal refinement. Their designs, often inspired by the natural world, stand out for the subtlety of their proportions and the excellence of their craftsmanship.
Jacques Charles' relevance in the field of design was recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1989. His influence transcended the creative sphere by serving on the advisory committee of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Comité Colbert, an institution that brings together the most prominent French luxury houses.
