The De Sede DS-80 Daybed, designed by the Swiss firm's design team and launched in 1969, is one of the brand's most iconic pieces. It features a narrow, generously padded mattress upholstered in high-quality leather with De Sede's signature patchwork finish, composed of carefully assembled pieces of the same leather. The set rests on an elegant black lacquered wooden slatted structure that seems almost suspended, while its movable cylindrical cushions allow for different configurations of support and rest. With low lines, horizontal proportions and great comfort, it combines the appearance of a lounger, sofa and daybed in a single piece, making it a benchmark of 1970s Swiss design and an exceptional example of De Sede's master craftsmanship in leatherworking.
Based in Klingnau, located in northern Switzerland near the German border, De Sede has been producing high-end furniture since the 1960s, when it began collaborating with international designers to create premium handcrafted leather chairs, lounges and sofas. Over the years, De Sede's product offering has expanded to include tables, beds and other furniture. Generous proportions balanced by elegant shapes characterize De Sede furniture. High quality craftsmanship means that each piece is built to last.
