DESCRIPTION
JAUME TRESSERRA CLAPÉS (Barcelona, 1943).
Modular low table.
Solid beech or cherry wood, steel and three plates of frosted glass.
Measurements: 37 x 220 x 60 cm.
Modular coffee table designed by Jaume Tresserra, with solid wood structure, metal elements and three matt glass top plates. Of elongated proportions and marked horizontality, the piece responds to the elegant and architectural language that characterizes Tresserra's production, where each material fulfills a precise aesthetic and structural function.
The base, resolved as a clean and emphatic volume, highlights the warmth of the wood and the quality of its finish, while the frosted glass plates introduce a light, sophisticated and functional surface. The metal acts as an element of transition and visual tension, providing a technical counterpoint that reinforces the contemporary reading of the whole. The result is a sober and refined coffee table with a great deal of character, conceived from the standpoint of material excellence and constructive precision.
Jaime Tresserra began his projection in 1987 when he presented his first collection at the Valencia International Furniture Fair, where he won the Award for Best Modern Furniture Design. In 1994 he founded Tresserra Collection, a firm dedicated to the exclusive production of his designs. His pieces were exhibited at international fairs such as Milan and Cologne and received awards such as the ID International Design Magazine Award and the International Design Review Award in New York, consolidating him as a reference in Spanish design at the end of the 20th century.
