Svend Aage Holm Sørensen (1913–2004) was a Danish industrial designer best known for his contributions to mid-20th-century lighting design. Trained during the heyday of Scandinavian modernism, he developed a body of work characterized by a combination of functionality, experimentation with materials, and a refined sculptural sense of light. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, he collaborated with various lighting companies in Denmark, establishing himself as a leading figure in postwar Nordic design. His lamps are distinguished by their expressive use of metal, textured surfaces, and color hallmarks, as well as by an aesthetic that straddles the line between the utilitarian and the decorative, in keeping with the language of modern Scandinavian design.
