DESCRIPTION
“Emmanuelle” armchair; 1970s.
Wicker.
Measurements: 110 x 60 x 145 cm.
The “Emmanuelle” armchair, also known as the “Peacock” chair, is one of the most iconic pieces of furniture made from plant fibers. Made of woven wicker, it is distinguished by its imposing fan-shaped backrest and its circular lattice base, elements that give it a sculptural presence and a distinctly artisanal character.
Although its origins date back further, this model achieved international fame in the 1970s thanks to its appearance in the French film *Emmanuelle* (1974), becoming an icon of bohemian and exotic style. Today, it remains a highly prized piece in vintage design for its ability to combine functionality, artisanal tradition, and a strong visual impact.
