Pair of “T&T” ceiling lamps, designed by Christophe de Ryck and produced by the Belgian firm Dark. The model is recognizable by its faceted and fragmented construction, formed by black and white geometric panels that project outward as if the volume were expanding. This interplay of planes creates a piece with a strong sculptural presence, reminiscent of the Space Age aesthetic and the formal experimentation of the 1970s.
The contrast between glossy black and ivory-white accentuates the design’s graphic appeal, while the open arrangement of the panels allows light to filter indirectly between the various elements. This piece is highly representative of Belgian lighting design from the second half of the 20th century, a period in which the use of plastic materials made it possible to explore new forms, visual effects, and decorative solutions.
