This mirror can be considered Brutalist due to the absolute prominence of its sculptural structure and the way it celebrates the materiality of metal. The thick frame features an intensely textured surface, with reliefs, incisions, and marks that appear to have been made by hand, evoking an almost archaeological or primitive aesthetic, very characteristic of the decorative Brutalism of the 1950s. Unlike mirrors with clean lines and polished finishes, here the ornamentation arises from the material itself, with a hammered silver finish that emphasizes the object’s strength, irregularity, and tactile quality. It is particularly interesting because it transcends its utilitarian function to become a sculptural piece: the contrast between the mirror’s circular geometry, the richness of the frame’s relief, and the unique upper element—joined by wooden pieces—creates a highly architectural composition with great personality, capable of serving as a focal point in an interior.
