Dining table from the “Post Modern” series, designed by Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni and produced by Glas Italia in Italy during the 1970s. The tabletop is made of clear glass to which four metal rings are attached. The legs, made of molded and shaped borosilicate glass, are screwed directly into these rings, creating a highly stable structure with a light, airy appearance. Piero Lissoni’s “Post Modern” series was also produced in rectangular and circular versions, but this is the largest square version made, capable of comfortably seating eight diners.
Piero Lissoni (Seregno, Italy, 1956) is one of the most influential Italian architects and designers on the contemporary scene. After studying architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, he founded the firm Lissoni & Partners in 1986 alongside Nicoletta Canesi, through which he develops projects in architecture, interior design, product design, and art direction for some of the most prestigious firms in international design.
