Part of the Le Piazze collection, the table reflects the more architectural aspect of 1980s Italian design. The large tabletop combines the warmth of cherry wood with a central band of abstract marquetry, whose interplay of triangles and diagonals introduces a dynamic and refined rhythm.

The base is structured by two strikingly geometric supports, connected by diagonal crossbars that evoke architectural structures. The contrast between the lightness of the tabletop and the darker tone of the base reinforces its elegant monumentality, placing the piece at the intersection of constructive rationalism and postmodern sensibility.

An architect, designer, and theorist, Luca Scacchetti was widely active in the fields of architecture, interior design, and furniture design. He studied at the Polytechnic University of Milan and taught at that institution, as well as at the Istituto Europeo di Design and the Accademia di Brera. His body of work is documented in the collection of the Fondazione Franco Moschini/AAM.
